Unmoored
Sailing Alone Towards Wholeness
Sometimes a sea crossing is more than it seems on the surface.
Sometimes it is about confronting fear and trauma, and letting go.
Making a solo crossing across the North Sea in a yacht might not be everyone's route to clarity and self discovery – and to be fair, that wasn’t my initial intention, either.
What began as a straightforward sailing challenge onboard Sophie – named for a dear childhood friend taken too soon – turned into something much deeper. Nature and solitude helped me confront the obstacles and fear that had long held me back.
From personal tragedy and trauma to healing and resilience, I hope Unmoored helps you start your own journey of discovery while staying on dry land.

A word from my publisher:
"Every so often a manuscript arrives that reminds me why I do this work.
Sharon's story is about finding your formidable: the strength that sits beneath grief, fear and the doubts we carry about what we are capable of. She has shown that it is possible to face the hardest parts of your past, take the helm and keep going.
I believe readers will finish Unmoored with a clearer sense of their own courage, wherever their own crossing happens to be."
